Job Description:

This is a Union position with great benefits! Sapphire Nursing and Rehab at Goshen is seeking to hire Part - time Dining Services Aides to join our culinary staff to provide timely service to meet our residents' needs. Our Dietary Aides perform a variety of food service functions in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents of our long term skilled nursing facility. We require our aides to provide the highest quality of service in an attentive and responsive atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights of our patients and their families. We are an innovative skilled nursing facility, specializes in caring for the elderly. Shifts Available: 11:30am-8pm and 4pm-8pm.

Job Responsibility:

  • Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures
  • Observes proper food handling techniques
  • Ensures proper setup of food for tray line and/or dining rooms
  • Delivers and retrieves food carts to and from clients area
  • Sets up trays for meals/works tray line position
  • Processes soiled trays, dishes and utensils from carts through dishwasher
  • Assists in the serving of food
  • Prepares snacks and beverages from between-meal service to patients
  • Prepares nutritional supplements and tube feeding products and delivers to customer areas
  • Washes pots, pans and other equipment as necessary
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation through entire work areas
  • Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Scrubs and mops floors, cleans and sanitizes equipment
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director
  • Participates in all in-services and activities as required
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all protected health information whether electronic, written, or oral exposed to either during the course of assigned duties or as a result of an incidental disclosure

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a nursing care facility or other previous service experience preferred
  • Must possess a ServSafe Food Handler Certificate or will obtain within 30 days after employment
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to long-term care dietary requirements
  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
  • Ability to follow written and oral directions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, and visitors
