Job Description

Digital Transformation Programme Manager. London (2–3 days per week onsite). £900 per day (Inside IR35). 6 months Contract Initially. Morson Edge is partnering with a leading UK retail organisation to appoint an experienced Digital Transformation Programme Manager to lead a major £25m programme to design, build and launch their first-ever customer delivery app. This is a flagship strategic initiative involving multiple third-party providers and extensive cross-functional collaboration. This role offers the opportunity to shape a market-defining digital customer experience and drive one of the organisation’s most important digital transformation programmes.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and implement a robust programme governance structure with clear decision-making routes and stakeholder input
  • Lead the programme delivery plan, ensuring milestones are met and dependencies are effectively managed
  • Establish and maintain a programme control framework covering risks, issues, costs, benefits, quality standards and resource planning
  • Deliver accurate and timely status reporting, escalating and resolving issues proactively
  • Manage programme budgets, forecasts, and cost controls, ensuring value for money and avoiding cost/time overruns
  • Oversee programme resource allocation, including onboarding, performance oversight and offboarding as required
  • Ensure all supplier and third-party relationships are effectively managed to support programme success
  • Work closely with internal teams, leadership and external vendors to align on strategy, expectations and KPIs
  • Engage regularly with C-suite and Director-level stakeholders, presenting programme updates and insights
  • Lead an Agile delivery model across multiple squads (initially four), ensuring effective sprint planning, collaboration and delivery
  • Support the transition from discovery into development, ensuring the MVP and subsequent phases are delivered to scope

Requirements

  • Experienced Programme Manager with strong Agile delivery capability (Scrum, multi-squad management)
  • Proven experience delivering digital products, ideally mobile apps, software platforms or integrations
  • Background working in technology-led environments, retail experience is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience managing large budgets (£15m+) and multi-discipline teams of 20+ people
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery, engineering workflows and digital product lifecycle
  • Confident managing multiple third parties, suppliers and system integrators
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite
