The Digital Signage Engineer role at NTT DATA involves providing technical support for enterprise digital signage platforms, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining systems.
Job Responsibility:
Provide Level 2 technical support for enterprise digital signage platforms, including hardware, software, and network-related components
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents escalated from Level 1 support within agreed SLA timelines
Configure, deploy, and maintain digital signage players, displays, and content management systems (CMS) across enterprise environments
Perform root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions to improve platform reliability
Support content scheduling, playback troubleshooting, and media optimisation to ensure high-quality and consistent display performance
Monitor system health, uptime, and performance using monitoring and device management tools
Apply firmware, operating system, and application updates in accordance with change management and IT governance processes
Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational runbooks, and asset records for digital signage systems
Coordinate with vendors and third-party support teams for advanced troubleshooting and issue escalation
Support new installations, upgrades, pilot projects, and proof-of-concept deployments for digital signage infrastructure
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Level 1 support engineers to improve operational efficiency and knowledge sharing
Ensure compliance with enterprise security, network, and IT operational standards
Participate in on-call rotations and out-of-hours support for live streaming events and critical service incidents
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics/AV Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting digital signage platforms, AV systems, or IT infrastructure in enterprise environments
Hands-on experience supporting large-scale or enterprise digital signage deployments
Experience working within managed services or service desk environments, including exposure to incident, problem, and change management processes
Strong understanding of digital signage CMS platforms such as BrightSign, Scala, Appspace, Signage Live, or Four Winds Interactive
Experience working with media players and SoC displays, including BrightSign, Android-based players, Windows devices, Samsung Tizen, or LG webOS platforms
Knowledge of display technologies such as LCD, LED, and video wall systems
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN connectivity
Experience supporting Windows, Linux, Android, or embedded operating systems used by signage devices
Familiarity with remote monitoring, device management, and endpoint monitoring tools
Understanding of media content formats, codecs, and media optimisation best practices
Awareness of cybersecurity principles related to endpoint devices and connected displays
Strong analytical troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to documentation and change management
Excellent command of both spoken and written English and German
Nice to have:
Basic scripting or automation knowledge (PowerShell or Bash) is desirable
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, AVIXA CTS/CTS-I, ITIL Foundation, or vendor certifications (BrightSign, Samsung, LG, Scala, Appspace) are advantageous
