Job Description:

The Digital Research & Insights position is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within user research, digital product design, and financial services, and contributes to directional strategy by applying those insights to both the role and the business. This role serves as a recognized subject matter expert in User Research within Wealth, with a primary focus on validating product offerings, advisory experiences, and operational models, particularly for new‑to‑product initiatives where risk mitigation is critical. The individual demonstrates strong communication, influence, and diplomacy skills to guide cross‑functional partners across Product, Technology, Design, Analytics, and Business teams. The role has a significant impact through complex research deliverables, influencing product strategy, feature prioritization, and go‑to‑market decisions across the Wealth sub‑function.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead end‑to‑end qualitative and quantitative user research to validate Wealth product offerings, advisory experiences, and operational workflows
  • De‑risk new and emerging products by identifying customer needs, usability gaps, adoption risks, and operational challenges prior to launch
  • Conduct conversation‑based qualitative research (e.g., interviews, moderated/unmoderated sessions) and quantitative studies (e.g., surveys, structured feedback) to generate actionable insights
  • Translate research findings into clear, concise takeaways, identifying wins, losses, trade‑offs, and recommendations, and synthesize insights into a strong, evidence‑based point of view (POV)
  • Partner closely with Product and Technology teams to influence product direction, backlog prioritization, and delivery decisions through research‑driven insights
  • Design and execute user testing plans across multiple stages of the product lifecycle, including concept validation, prototype testing, pilot releases, and post‑launch evaluations
  • Leverage AI‑enabled research platforms (e.g., Suzy) to scale insights, accelerate feedback loops, and complement traditional research methodologies
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI Designers, providing research direction, validation, and feedback while not serving as the primary UI designers
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and achieve buy‑in across cross‑functional workstreams through compelling storytelling and data‑backed recommendations
  • Communicate research findings and experience roadmaps effectively to executives, product owners, and development teams
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Support different teams by facilitating team to team communication
  • Look for innovation outside of daily delivery that benefit the customer/company

Requirements:

  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in user research, product strategy, digital design, or a related discipline
  • Strong hands‑on experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, including synthesis and executive‑level storytelling
  • Significant experience managing complex business and technical solutions
  • Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly, effectively influencing across cross functional teams
  • Experience delivering with an agile methodology
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled research platforms (e.g., Suzy) strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

  • 401(k)
  • life, accident, and disability insurance
  • wellness programs
  • paid time off packages, including planned time off (vacation), unplanned time off (sick leave), and paid holidays
