The Quality Engineering Leader is responsible for defining, governing, and scaling quality engineering capabilities across Owens Corning's digital product landscape. This role operates within an embedded quality assurance (QA) delivery model that is firmly supported by centralized standards and best practices, guaranteeing quality is integrated into every phase of product development. By championing a proactive approach to quality, this role ensures that issues are identified and addressed early, resulting in more robust and reliable digital solutions. Leading multi-discipline quality teams, including manual QA, automation, and SDET/Test Engineering, the leader fosters a collaborative and high-performing environment. These teams work in close partnership with Engineering, Product, and DevOps leaders to deliver predictable, high-confidence outcomes that meet both technical and business requirements. The role is instrumental in navigating complex challenges, aligning quality objectives with enterprise goals, and ensuring that testing processes adapt to evolving technological landscapes. This position focuses on web applications, web pages, APIs, and mobile solutions. Responsibilities include building a scalable foundation that supports current and future business needs, including embedded systems and Internet of Things (IoT) quality. This role involves developing strong partnerships throughout the organization, including Engineering, Product, DevOps, and business teams, to ensure quality outcomes are aligned with enterprise objectives. By staying ahead of industry trends and integrating outside-in market insights, the leader contributes to the continuous improvement of enterprise quality capability, positioning Owens Corning as a leader in digital excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build strong partnerships with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and business stakeholders to align quality outcomes with enterprise objectives

  • Establish and govern standards for test strategy, automation, coverage models, quality gates, and risk-based testing
  • Ensure quality practices scale across sprint teams without creating delivery bottlenecks
  • Evolve quality engineering capabilities to support future embedded and IoT domains
  • Set strategic direction for automation across web, API, and mobile layers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, computer science, management information systems
  • or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years leading QA teams (multiple direct reports and/or contractors), with the ability to successfully lead projects and leaders across regions and third parties
  • 10+ years of experience in software testing and quality engineering across manual and automated practices
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience with stakeholder management and effective communication across all levels of the organization
  • Experience operating within Agile delivery models with embedded QA resources
  • Possesses a combination of application development, IT strategy and relationship management experience that demonstrates an ability to both conceive and deliver solutions
  • Working knowledge of quality engineering principles and best practices
  • Proven ability to foster effective collaboration within culturally and geographically diverse quality engineering and test automation teams
  • Demonstrates a strong grasp of emerging IT trends and contemporary technologies as they relate to quality engineering
  • Experienced in managing, directing, and influencing budgets dedicated to quality engineering initiatives and test automation frameworks
