Job Responsibility

  • Leverage deep understanding of user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and task performance
  • Design compelling visualizations and interactions that facilitate analytic thinking with large datasets
  • Lead design critiques, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate engaging ideation sessions and collaborative work activities
  • Serve as the interaction design subject-matter expert for the product design team
  • Apply comprehensive interaction design theory, research data, and best practices to inform design decisions
  • Develop highly complex artifacts to clearly communicate task flows, touchpoints, user behaviors, and information exchange
  • Create intricate low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate design ideas
  • Produce sophisticated prototypes that serve as precise delivery specifications for development teams
  • Present complex interaction design work and rationale to senior stakeholders
  • Facilitate and lead usability testing sessions to gather critical user feedback
  • Initiate and actively participate in various research activities to deepen user understanding
  • Conduct thorough research into interaction design strategies within the financial services sector and perform competitive audits relevant to specific design or business objectives
  • Execute pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed to ensure consistency and quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in designing usable interfaces across diverse channels and platforms
  • Proven experience in an applied research setting, including successfully integrating user research findings into product designs and design practices
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex design strategies, rationales, and logic, clearly describing benefits and highlighting potential risks associated with design decisions
  • Expertise with industry-standard design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, and UserTesting.com

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, including when and how to apply them effectively during each product phase
  • A keen appreciation for the potential and application of ‘design thinking’ methodologies
  • Experience working within a large organization and thriving in an agile development environment
