Digital Modeller, Geotechnical

Job Responsibility

  • Translate technical intent into intelligent, coordinated and constructible digital models that enable safe, efficient and sustainable project outcomes across the full asset life cycle
  • Optimise asset design through advanced 2D and 3D modelling
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers and clients
  • Apply Aurecon's digital and quality standards
  • Leverage emerging technologies, cloud collaboration and federated modelling to improve decision-making, reduce risk and enhance the client experience
  • Plan the design prior to it being constructed
  • Apply planning, technical, and mathematical knowledge and methods
  • Optimise technical design for assets
  • Interpret and expand technical details for assets using drawings, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations
  • Use intermediate to advanced 2D drafting (CAD) or 3D modelling (e.g. Revit) systems
  • Train and impart technical and 3D drafting knowledge to less experienced drafters
  • Demonstrate expertise in area of discipline (civil/ electrical/mechanical)
  • Apply broader knowledge of quality and safety standards
  • Develop deep technical and digital expertise
  • Promote new and emerging technologies and ways of working
  • Plan resources of small, short term projects or parts of larger projects
  • Identify, organise and use resources effectively

Requirements

  • Establish and promote best practice in health, safety, sustainability, cost, time, buildability and quality across the track–civils interface
  • Lead the integration of Standard Slab Track with civil structures
  • Evaluate structural movements, deflections, rotations and restraint conditions and assess their impact on slab track performance
  • Provide site-informed engineering judgement to optimise detailing, buildability, and sequencing at interfaces between structures and track
