Our client is looking to hire a Digital Lead who will be responsible for managing a cross-functional digital team, overseeing transitional service agreements, establishing governance, and aligning future digital strategy with board and external stakeholder expectations. This will be a Wellington based contract role till December 2026 with a possible extension.
Job Responsibility
Lead the Digital Workstream: Direct all digital initiatives and workstreams leading up to the official launch/commencement date of the new entity
People Management: Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary digital team
Manage Transition Agreements: Oversee the relationship with the parent organization and digital teams
Transition-Out Planning: Lead the development and execution of the 'transition out' schedule to ensure operational independence
Implement Digital Governance: Establish clear governance frameworks
Board & Executive Reporting: Manage expectations and provide strategic digital updates directly to the Board of Directors and key executive stakeholders
Requirements
Proven experience as a Programme Lead / Manager in complex environments
Ability to lead technical delivery team
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
High attention to detail with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset
Strong working knowledge of Digital systems in public sector
Experience in Central agencies or Crown entities will be desirable
