Job Description:

A DC law firm is seeking a skilled law librarian to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting legal professionals by conducting comprehensive research and managing digital resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal and policy research, combined with expertise in utilizing advanced digital tools and platforms.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct in-depth legal, legislative, regulatory, and policy research to provide accurate and timely information to attorneys and paralegals
  • Manage and organize digital records and resources on the shared intranet to ensure accessibility and efficiency
  • Utilize and maintain research tools and AI platforms, including Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, and Copilot, to enhance research capabilities
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on technology and research tools for attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Monitor advancements in research technologies and recommend updates or new tools to improve workflows
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards while managing digital resources
  • Collaborate with legal teams to provide tailored solutions to complex research needs
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality in all research and documentation tasks

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal research or law library management
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg
  • Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence applications in legal research
  • Experience with managing library resources and digital records
  • Familiarity with legislative and regulatory research processes
  • Expertise in SharePoint for organizing and sharing digital resources
  • Excellent communication and training skills to support staff development
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
