Job Description:

At Koala we believe that designing better habitats leads to better lives – for our people, our planet, and the communities we’re part of. For a decade we have been perfecting our approach to furniture design; creating beautiful, flexible, innovative and sustainable products that solve the needs of real people. Why we have this role @ Koala: Creative is one of the biggest drivers of Koala’s growth. As channels evolve and testing velocity increases, we need a designer who can deliver high-quality, on-brand visuals at speed - especially across CRM and paid social. This role ensures we consistently produce the creative variation, refinement, and testing needed to improve engagement, conversion, and ROAS across the growth ecosystem

Job Responsibility:

  • Design high-performing Meta statics that are clean, premium, and purpose-built for rapid testing cycles
  • Translate briefs into polished assets with speed, ensuring the Growth team has a constant pipeline of creative variations to test
  • Maintain brand consistency while adapting creative styles for direct-response formats
  • Convert winning ads into CRM/email assets-and vice versa-to maximise learnings and replicate performance gains across channels
  • Design for all lifecycle touchpoints: welcome flows, post-purchase, reactivation, review requests, cart/checkout reminders, etc
  • Work with CRM team to ensure creative supports segmentation, dynamic content, and personalisation
  • Design for campaign-specific briefs, working with marketers to bring ideas to life in the most compelling ways
  • Design and optimise ecommerce-specific assets: homepage banners, promotional modules, product imagery overlays, and on-site promotional graphics - ensuring clarity, consistency with brand, and performance orientation
  • Collaborate with Product / UX / eCommerce teams to ensure designs support usability, conversion, and customer journey flow - balancing aesthetic with function
  • Design and execute high-impact A/B tests and landing page optimisations, ensuring all visual updates are aligned with conversion goals
  • Execute performance design briefs for other key channels, including Google and OOH
  • Be a visual brand guardian - ensure all creative (paid, on-site, email, social) meets Global Brand standards while adapting for context (performance vs brand campaigns)
  • Contribute to evolving Koala’s visual identity and creative systems/templates - building reusable templates for social posts, ads, emails, site modules to improve speed, consistency, and scalability
  • Work cross-functionally with Creative/Brand, Growth/Performance Marketing, CRM, and eCommerce - to align visual output with commercial goals, product launches, and lifecycle strategy
  • Collaborate with growth, analytics, and eCommerce teams to assess performance of creatives (e.g. click-through, conversion, engagement, AOV uplift) and iterate rapidly. This might include refreshing underperforming assets, optimising for different segments, or creating targeted variants
  • Maintain design hygiene: organised files, version control, naming conventions - ensuring handoffs are smooth, scalable, and audit-friendly
  • Manage multiple briefs, deadlines, and priorities - balancing fast-turnaround ad requests with longer-term brand or site design work

Requirements:

  • eCommerce / DTC / Digital-first experience: 3-6 years working as a graphic/marketing designer in eCommerce or DTC brands (or agencies supporting them), with a demonstrated ability to create digital assets for performance and lifecycle marketing
  • Strong digital design skills: Proficient in design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent), with command over layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and digital-first design sensibilities
  • Understanding of conversion & marketing metrics: Comfortable thinking beyond aesthetics - aware of how design impacts engagement, click-through, conversion, retention, and overall eCommerce performance
  • Speed + flexibility: Able to deliver quality creative under tight deadlines, manage many concurrent projects, and pivot quickly across channels (ads, email, social, site)
  • Analytical & data-informed mindset: Interested in performance data, willing to iterate designs based on results, and able to collaborate with analytics and growth teams
  • Strong communication & collaboration: Able to translate briefs, articulate design tradeoffs, integrate feedback, and work across multiple stakeholders (growth, CRM, brand, product)
  • Organised and process-oriented: Comfortable maintaining asset libraries, design systems, version control, and production workflows as the volume and complexity of work scale
What we offer:
  • Hybrid working - We’re mixing it up with ~3 days back in the Alexandria Treehouse (office) and work from bed/home (WFB)
  • Take a break - Generous time off - volunteer, parental, Koala life leave and more to help keep your work-life balance, balanced

  • Accelerate your career - via our Learning Management platform Juno, as well as individual and team growth budgets and dedicated days
