We are partnering with a prominent Local Government organisation in Melbourne’s South East to find a proactive Digital Communications Advisor to join their high-performing Corporate Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance a public-facing digital presence, managing diverse social channels and website content that directly impacts the local community. As a Digital Communications Advisor, you will be the engine room of the Council's online identity. You will work closely with the Team Leader of Digital Communications to create a cohesive, engaging, and accessible digital experience for residents.
Job Responsibility:
Establish a content calendar and produce high-quality multi-media content (including video and photography) for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and the Council website
Monitor social media channels, respond to community inquiries, and analyze data to evaluate sentiment and campaign effectiveness
Provide expert advice to internal business units on digital best practices, tone of voice, and channel selection
Ensure all digital output complies with strict accessibility standards and corporate brand guidelines
Assist with timely crisis communications and attend project launches or ministerial visits to capture live content
Requirements:
Proven experience in administering professional social media accounts and websites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
Proficiency in content curation, multi-media production, and the use of analytics to drive improvement
Exceptional writing skills and the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with external contractors (videographers, designers)
The ability to work with minimal supervision, making sound operational decisions based on experience
A Degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing
A current Victorian Driver’s Licence
