Job Description

The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of products from concept to operational deployment, guiding Scrum Masters and developers through the requirements process and contributing to a robust, organized Backlog and streamlined Roadmap for the GEODS program.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as a bridge between the government and one or more Scrum teams
  • Prioritize work for one or more Scrum teams, maintaining the team Backlog in Jira
  • Assist one or more Scrum teams in developing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Review and accept completed work, ensuring it meets defined acceptance criteria
  • Ensure team is always working on highest value approved priorities while avoiding scope creep
  • Work closely with government to bring new efforts through the requirements process
  • Assist Chief Architect and Chief Engineer in Roadmap development, defining vision for future years of the program
  • Oversee projects to ensure successful completion and adherence to timelines
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues alongside team Scrum Master, may also serve as the team Scrum Master
  • Provide contract and government leadership visibility into team progress and impediments, to include reporting (CDRLs, KPIs, etc.)

Requirements

  • Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical challenges and obstacles in a clear and direct manner
  • Previous experience supervising a team of developers and engineers in delivering new and updated services
  • Previous experience serving as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Previous experience leading developers/serving in a supervisory role
  • Experience utilizing SAFe or similar Agile methodologies
  • Experience in API Management concepts and fundamentals
  • Understanding of Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, ETL processes, etc.
  • Familiarity with NGA imagery and Data Repositories
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Master’s degree with 8 years’ experience, Bachelor’s degree with 12 years’ experience, Associates degree with 20 years’ experience, or a minimum of 25 years’ experience, in relevant field

Nice to have

  • Strong grasp of Atlassian tool suite, specifically Confluence and Jira
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification
  • AWS certification(s)
  • Familiarity with NGA requirements process, to include RFCs
