Are you skilled in Digital & IT Teacher with a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those you teach? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Wealstun, working as an Digital & IT Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
  • Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/ Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or commit to work towards within a specified timeframe (Applies to Teachers in YOI only)
  • Have IT based qualifications
  • Experience of Teaching Digital Functional Skills
  • Experience of Teaching IT Media based courses
  • Desirable experience in teaching Web Design / Digital marketing
  • Creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
  • Achievement of quality targets
  • Producing accurate and timely reports
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and enthuse learners
  • Organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
  • Positive team working

Nice to have:

Desirable experience in teaching Web Design / Digital marketing
