Dietetic Technicians support the Clinical Nutrition team by assisting in the delivery of high-quality nutritional care to patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The per diem schedule requires a minimum of 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month. During the initial training period, candidates are expected to be available 2–3 days per week for approximately 2–3 months.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting the Clinical Dietitian in providing optimal nutritional care to patients
Screening patients who may be at nutritional risk and providing supportive clinical care and follow-up
Calculating patient nutrient and energy intake when ordered by a provider or requested by a dietitian
Providing nutrition-related education for patients and caregivers on select modified diets
Monitoring understanding and implementation of nutrition interventions and communicating progress to the Registered Dietitian
Modifying care plans as needed in collaboration with the Clinical Dietitian
Requirements:
Associate's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is required
Bachelor's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is preferred
Minimum of one to two years of related experience preferred
Proficiency with nutrient analysis software and basic computer skills
Strong communication and analytical skills to support patient-centered care
Registered Dietetic Technician credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is preferred
ServSafe Certification is preferred
