Job Description:

Dietetic Technicians support the Clinical Nutrition team by assisting in the delivery of high-quality nutritional care to patients and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The per diem schedule requires a minimum of 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month. During the initial training period, candidates are expected to be available 2–3 days per week for approximately 2–3 months.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assisting the Clinical Dietitian in providing optimal nutritional care to patients
  • Screening patients who may be at nutritional risk and providing supportive clinical care and follow-up
  • Calculating patient nutrient and energy intake when ordered by a provider or requested by a dietitian
  • Providing nutrition-related education for patients and caregivers on select modified diets
  • Monitoring understanding and implementation of nutrition interventions and communicating progress to the Registered Dietitian
  • Modifying care plans as needed in collaboration with the Clinical Dietitian

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is required
  • Bachelor's degree from an ACEND-accredited program is preferred
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience preferred
  • Proficiency with nutrient analysis software and basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and analytical skills to support patient-centered care
  • Registered Dietetic Technician credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is preferred
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred
