The Clinical Nutrition Informaticist is a clinical professional with a Registered Dietitian background who reports to the Assistant Director of Patient Nutrition Services. This role provides clinical nutrition informatics services for the Nutrition and Food Services departments within WellStar Health System (WHS).
Job Responsibility:
Provide clinical nutrition informatics services for Nutrition and Food Services departments
Participate in assessment of needs for nutrition-related information systems
Provide content expertise that supports care area teams
Analyze, design, implement and evaluate information and communication systems related to clinical nutrition and patient meal services
Assist with development, maintenance and revision of nutrition components in electronic health record and food service software systems
Implement processes to promote evidence based practice in clinical software system
Perform patient and retail menu planning
Conduct nutrient analysis for recipes and meal plans
Design, develop and implement clinical nutrition informatics plans
Apply change management methodologies to advance utilization of nutrition informatics
Oversee end-user optimization and efficiency
Embed evidence-based practice and analytics model to ensure patient outcomes and improve performance
Work with information technology departments, providers, super-users, clinical departments and other personnel to accomplish strategic goals
Requirements:
Registered Dietitian background
Clinical professional
Experience in clinical nutrition informatics
Knowledge of nutrition-related information systems including hardware and software
Experience with electronic health record and food service software systems
Knowledge of current state, federal and local nutrition practice guidelines
Experience with nutrient analysis for recipes and meal plans using approved nutrient databases and software
Experience in change management methodologies
Ability to work with information technology departments, providers, super-users, clinical departments and other personnel
