Job Description

The registered dietitian (RD) is responsible for the nutritional assessment and intervention of acute care hospitalized patients. The RD recommends appropriate medical nutrition therapy based on patient's diagnosis, nutrition focused physical exam and overall health status. Identifies the proper nutrition regimen and places order in the medical record. Communicates plan of care to all responsible parties. Educates staff, patients, family and significant others on nutrition plan of care. Documents findings, orders, interventions in the electronic health record. Contributes to departmental achievements through process improvement. Supports best practice standards of care by utilizing evidence based practice guidelines. Estimated salary range for this position is $60249.48 - $78324.32 / year depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelors
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN)
  • CDR Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition - BSNT required
  • Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration and Florida State licensure (LD/N)
  • Board certified in area of nutrition related specialty OR Master's' Degree or higher
  • This position requires direct patient care through assessment, intervention and care planning
  • Years of experience must be obtained in a hospital clinical setting
  • The following proven skills are expected, include excellent verbal/written communication, critical thinking, basic computer, and service excellence
  • Minimum Required Experience: 3 Years
