As you work 37.5 hours a week, you will join a team that provides a Children and Young People Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorder; or an eating difficulty with a co-morbid presentation for example mental or psychological issues, such as depression, OCD or anxiety or self-harm in Hove.
Job Responsibility:
Provide care to some of the most vulnerable people in society
Join a team that provides a Children and Young People Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorder
Play an important part in the assessment and ongoing nutritional care of service users
Help gather key information by reviewing food records, speaking with service users, families, carers, schools and other healthcare professionals, and supporting the dietitian with height and weight monitoring
Contribute to developing patient‑centred nutritional care plans
Ensure all observations and updates are clearly recorded in line with trust policy and information governance standards
Take on the role of Dining Room Host, supporting service users during mealtimes and snacks
Observe and record mealtime behaviours, provide encouragement and guidance, and work alongside nursing staff to create a supportive environment
Help educate other team members in the dining room
Ensure any concerns or changes are clearly communicated to the Dietitian
Supporting the dietitian with collecting information for their assessment
Reviewing patients to ensure the agreed nutritional plan is appropriate and being followed and reporting back to the dietitian
Supporting the dieticians with by helping to produce resources related to patient meal plans
Completing and maintaining patient records and data collection
Meet with the patients to discuss mealtime support needs and support the nursing team to complete meal support plans
Act as the point of dietetic contact for patients on a ward level through patient key-sessions and participation in community meetings
Helping in the facilitation of groups and patient sessions involving eating outside of the clinic
Liaising with the hospital’s catering department regarding menus, portioning sizes and special diets
Requirements:
General standard of education to GCSE or equivalent. Grade c/ level 4 or above in Maths/ English/Science
Evidence of previous and ongoing experience of working in a healthcare setting in a clinical capacity
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet browsing
