Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of the Food Service Department and/or designate, the primary purpose of this position is to assemble trays, serve food and nourishments, clean up after meal service while maintaining clean, sanitary and safe environments in all facilities areas operated by Aramark at Labrador West Health Center.

Job Responsibility

  • Assemble trays
  • Serve food and nourishments
  • Clean up after meal service
  • Maintain clean, sanitary and safe environments
  • Prepare or serve beverages, snacks, and meals
  • Clean and peel vegetables
  • Clean, sanitize, and stock kitchenettes, specific food stations, and/or other food service areas
  • Assemble meal trays for residents/patients
  • Distribute and collect food trays to and from floors
  • Clean, replenish work area(s)/restock materials
  • Scrape, unload, and clean meal trays
  • Roll silverware
  • May provide snacks after hours
  • May operate a cash register
  • May set up catering for specific areas and assist in preparing food items for special events
  • May prepare diet change reports based on patient/resident admissions and discharges
  • May stock groceries on shelves and refrigerators, inspect goods, and rotate stock

Requirements

  • 1+ years Kitchen Help, Food Service, or Prep Cook experience
  • Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced) certification
  • First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations
  • Successful candidates must complete and pass a Code of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check to be hired
