The Dietary Aide Lead works in our adult day health center preparing and serving snacks and meals to participants in addition to maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment and other related tasks. Additionally, they support the Dietary Aide staff and support tasks for Nutritional Services team.
Job Responsibility:
Prepares and serves morning/afternoon snacks at proper temperature with portion control and diet orders - wearing hair net, gloves and apron
Updates information on diet card and diet lists when information changes as needed
Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and equipment according to cleaning schedule
Cleans, organizes and sanitizes food service equipment and areas
Maintains inventory and restocks supplies, monitoring expiration dates
Records temperatures of all meals and kitchen equipment
Assists with ordering, tracking and delivering meals, supplies and supplements
Assists the Dietitian with the Child and Adult Care Food Program
Assigns, schedules and assists Dietary Aide’s in prep and serving of meals
Oversees the quality of food/kitchen equipment and ensures that Dietary Aides wear hair nets, gloves and aprons during meal and snack preparations
Maintains diet lists and cards for the center, after receiving training from the Registered Dietitian (RD) in collaboration with the Dietary Aides and the Dietitian
Communicates with the Dietitian regarding nutritional issues
Oversees the meal/snack menu for proper temperature, portion control, diet orders, supplements
Oversees inventory and restocking of food / supplies - ordering meals, snacks, supplies and supplements for the center
Oversees cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment performing routine sanitation checks
Performs documentation for the Child and Adult Care Food Program for the center in collaboration with the Dietitian
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
ServSafe certification or obtain certification within 90 days of hire
Current food safety training or obtain certification within 90 days of hire
Nice to have:
Knowledge of basic nutrition for a geriatric population
