Job Responsibility:
Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in trailers, braking systems, lighting systems, suspension components, and towing assemblies
Dismantling and removing axles, braking systems, couplings, suspension units, wheel assemblies, and other trailer components, and inspecting parts for wear or damage
Repairing and replacing worn or defective trailer parts and reassembling mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service manuals
Performing scheduled maintenance services such as brake servicing, bearing replacements, lubrication, suspension checks, and safety inspections to ensure trailers operate safely and comply with Australian road and transport regulations
Reassembling trailer systems and components after repair or maintenance work has been completed
Testing and adjusting mechanical and electrical components after repairs to ensure correct operation, safety, and performance
Diagnosing and testing trailer components and electrical systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and computer-assisted equipment where required
Inspecting trailers and issuing roadworthiness certificates or identifying and documenting required repairs to achieve roadworthy compliance
Responding to breakdown, repair, and service call-outs as required, including on-site assessments and fault rectification

Relevant qualification
