Job Description:

Heavy Diesel Mechanic | Western Sydney. Join a leading national environmental and waste services provider in a high-performing Western Sydney workshop. You will be performing proactive maintenance and major/minor repairs on a diverse heavy vehicle fleet to ensure safety and compliance. You will be managing your own workload independently, performing mechanical repairs across brakes, steering, and suspension systems while using digital tools to track your progress. Location: Central Western Sydney. Large, modern workshop with ample parking. Hourly Rate: Competitive Base + Afternoon Shift Penalties + Overtime. Shifts Available: Monday to Friday, Morning and Afternoon shifts available.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing proactive maintenance and major/minor repairs on a diverse heavy vehicle fleet to ensure safety and compliance
  • Managing your own workload independently, performing mechanical repairs across brakes, steering, and suspension systems while using digital tools to track your progress

Requirements:

  • Valid Diesel Mechanic License is essential
  • Proven experience in heavy vehicle mechanical repairs (Brakes, Suspension, Steering)
  • Comfortable using an iPad/tablet for fleet management and reporting
  • Ability to pass a Police Check and Drug & Alcohol screen
  • Valid manual Driver’s License (MR or HR license is highly regarded)

  • Working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes
  • Ability to work on propane, gas, and diesel systems
  • Replace broken or defective parts and order replacement parts for major repairs
  • Re-assemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments
  • Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to work floor
