The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing company fleet vehicles, including semi-trucks, trailers, hydrovacs, crew trucks and related machinery. This position performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to keep equipment running safely and efficiently while supporting daily operations and reducing down time.
Job Responsibility:
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy duty trucks, trailers, hydrovacs, diesel engines, light duty vehicles, generators and other company equipment
Perform preventative maintenance services including oil changes, brake work, fluid checks, tire service and scheduled inspections
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues to minimize downtime
Complete repairs accurately and in a timely manner to support daily operations
Maintain service records, repair logs, and preventative maintenance documentation
Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment is in safe operating condition
Respond to field service calls or emergency repair as needed
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
2+ years of mechanic experience working with heavy trucks, diesel engines, trailers, construction equipment, or related fleet equipment
Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize repairs
Dependable, self-motivated, and safety conscious
Strong communication skills and ability to work with operations personnel
Must be able to commute to Ault, CO
Nice to have:
Hydrovac equipment experience
Experience with hydraulic systems, PTO systems or vacuum systems
DOT inspections and fleet compliance experience
