Job Description

We are recruiting for Cutting Operatives in our production area. You will work within a team in a fast-paced environment reporting to the Shift Manufacturing Manager. You will be responsible for the operation of the Die Cutting Machinery. We are looking for candidates with experience of the following cutting machines XL platen, Small Youngshin, Large Youngshin, Elitron and Gullitone. No experience? No worries, we are happy to train the right person.

Job Responsibility

  • Operation of the Die Cutting Machinery
  • Accountable for your own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating within the DS Smith safe systems of work guidelines
  • Ensuring that productivity is exceptional
  • Ensuring that the quality of the work leads to minimal errors
  • Ensuring that the maintenance and cleaning tasks on the machines are planned to ensure maximum output
  • Working with a variety personnel within your area of production and work with the teams in the other departments across the site

Requirements

  • Preferred experience but not essential as training will be given working with and operating industrial machinery within a manufacturing environment
  • Preferred experience but not essential as training will be given, working with die cutting machinery and understanding job specs
  • Working knowledge of good health and safety practices
  • Proven experience of working towards KPI’s and deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • both written and verbally
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to make informed decisions
  • Preferred Forklift Licence Holder but not essential
