Job Description

As our Dialysis Nurse, you will provide specialized, compassionate nursing care for patients undergoing various dialysis treatments, ensuring their safety and optimal clinical outcomes.Every day you will assess patient conditions, proficiently initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, educate patients on their disease and treatment plan, meticulously manage vascular access, and ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.To be successful in this role you will combine a strong clinical background in dialysis with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional patient education skills, and the ability to manage complex care plans while advocating for our patient's well-being.

Job Responsibility

  • Provides specialized, compassionate nursing care for patients undergoing various dialysis treatments, ensuring their safety and optimal clinical outcomes
  • Assess patient conditions, proficiently initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, educate patients on their disease and treatment plan, meticulously manage vascular access, and ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols
  • Manages and coordinates the care of patients in a defined care delivery model, utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning implementation and evaluation
  • Supervises and/or provides all nursing care provided to an assigned population
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team
  • Accountable for patient/family education
  • Documents nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing standards of care
  • Provides a safe environment and promotes quality patient care through adherence to established standards

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • One (1) year of acute care experience within the last three (3) years
  • Completion of Hemodialysis training program
  • Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months

  • Previous Hemodialysis experience

  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensures accurate, timely documentation and adherence to strict federal (e.g., UNOS/OPTN, CMS) and hospital regulations
  • Advocacy: Acts as an advocate for the donor, ensuring their well-being, rights, and understanding throughout the process
  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building
  • Ensures the maintenance of the pre transplant charts, ensures compliance with documentation required by regulatory agencies
  • Coordinates pre-transplant patient education and evaluation processes
  • Assumes responsibility for call
