The Diagnostic Technician plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our reputation for excellence. You will be responsible for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving vehicle faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and software. Job Responsibility
Utilise diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify vehicle faults and malfunctions
Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to assess and report on mechanical and electrical issues
Collaborate closely with service technicians to communicate findings and recommend appropriate repairs
Maintain detailed records of diagnostics and repairs in compliance with company standards
Stay up to date with the latest automotive diagnostic technology and industry developments
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Provide excellent customer service by explaining diagnostic results and repair options clearly
Support the workshop team by assisting in general vehicle servicing and maintenance tasks as required
May be required to move and work between sites as apart of your duties
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification
Proven experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician or similar role within the automotive industry
Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, engine management, and emission control systems
Proficient in using diagnostic scan tools and software (e.g., OBD-II scanners, manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems)
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and fault codes effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills with a friendly and professional manner
Full UK driving licence is essential
