Job Responsibility:

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a recognized Canadian ultrasound program
  • Current CRCS certification with Sonography Canada

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data
  • Ensure patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies
  • Use two patient identifiers to ensure accurate patient identification
  • Compare physician's orders to requisitions for accuracy
  • Obtain accurate medical history and complete the appropriate worksheet
  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and all diagnostic echocardiographic laboratory examinations
  • Utilize cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images
  • Recognize the significance of all visualized structures, differentiate normal from abnormal findings, and identify artifacts
  • Coordinate work schedule with supervisor and front desk to ensure workload coverage
