Are you a Terraform migration expert with a knack for coaching teams and driving infrastructure-as-code adoption? We’re looking for a DevOps leader who can standardize cloud environments, streamline operations, and empower teams to build self-sufficient solutions. If you thrive on AWS/Azure architecture, day-0 to day-2 operations, and delivering code-driven infrastructure, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
Job Responsibility:
Assess current AWS/Azure infrastructure (scripted & GUI-built) and define paths to Terraform
Design target state modules, workspaces, and pipelines
migrate resources to Terraform safely
Introduce guardrails: state management, versioning, module registries, policy as code (e.g., Sentinel/Open Policy Agent)
Coach teams through the migration lifecycle—day-0 (planning/provisioning), day-1 (configuration/onboarding), day-2 (operations/changes)
Run workshops, pair-programming sessions, and office hours
document patterns and playbooks
Create reusable Terraform modules and reference architectures for AWS and Azure
Establish CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps) for IaC deployments
Define environments, naming conventions, tagging strategies, and secrets management
Develop runbooks, SOPs, and automation to ensure teams are self-sufficient post-handoff
Confirm monitoring, logging, alerting, backups, drift detection, and remediation are in place
Evaluate team maturity
build customized migration roadmaps with milestones, KPIs, and quality gates
Identify risks, dependencies, and remediation strategies
report progress to stakeholders
Requirements:
Proven experience migrating to Terraform from mixed environments (AWS/Azure
scripted and GUI-built), including: Importing existing resources (terraform import), module refactoring, and state management
Designing module libraries and standardized workflows at scale
Deep expertise in AWS and Azure services and core infrastructure (networking, compute, storage, IAM/Identity)
Strong grasp of day-0, day-1, day-2 operations for IaC and cloud platforms
Ability to develop code and procedures that make teams self-sufficient (modules, pipelines, policy, runbooks)
Experience preparing operational handoffs with no loss of capability (documentation, training, support models)
Skill in evaluating team maturity and implementing tailored enablement plans
Demonstrated design and implementation experience (reference architectures, guardrails, governance)
Excellent communication and coaching skills
client-presentable and comfortable leading workshops
Nice to have:
Experience with multi-cloud patterns and hybrid setups
Familiarity with policy as code (OPA, Sentinel), secret management (Vault, Key Vault, Secrets Manager)
