Job Description:

As a DevOps Applications Engineer in the HPE Storage Division, you will be responsible for developing tools and environments to automate and drive automation improvements. Working with customers to help them reimagine their information technology needs to deliver a simple, consumable solution that helps them drive their business results.

Job Responsibility:

  • Customization around bug tracking system like Jira, Bugzilla and be able to manage Confluence, Opengrok applications
  • Managing Jenkins and contribute to infrastructure automation efforts using cutting-edge tools like Docker
  • Provide daily support to engineers across these supported applications and their eco system
  • Maintain automation standards and best practices including documentation
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Typically 4-6 years' experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Atlassian products like Jira, Confluence and other bug tracking systems
  • Experience with automation tools and processes
  • Experience with source code management tools (preferably Git)
  • Programing and scripting experience in any programming language
  • Strong preference to Python
  • Knowledge of storage systems (filesystem, NFS, SMB, SSD, object storage, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with design and integration of software running on multiple platform types
  • Understanding of software systems design tools, testing, coding, and debugging procedures
  • Operating systems Experience with the general operation of Windows & Linux
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have:

Knowledge of storage systems (filesystem, NFS, SMB, SSD, object storage, etc.)
