Job Responsibility:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable platforms: Develop and manage highly available, scalable, and secure platform solutions to meet evolving business needs
  • Manage VMware environments: Design, deploy, and optimize virtualized infrastructure using VMware, ensuring efficient resource utilization and high availability
  • Automate infrastructure: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar to automate the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure
  • Monitor and optimize performance: Implement monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in real-time
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement: Lead initiatives around platform efficiency, security, cost management, and scalability
  • Implement security best practices: Ensure platform security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and compliance with industry standards
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior platform engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment
  • Stay current with emerging technologies: Continuously evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can enhance platform reliability and performance

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles
  • Strong experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, including infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Working knowledge with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Strong experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or similar
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Powershell for automating infrastructure tasks
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI), and best practices for continuous delivery
  • Understanding of security best practices for cloud infrastructure, including IAM, encryption, and auditing

Nice to have:

  • Networking: Strong understanding of networking principles (DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.)
  • Database Management: Experience with managing databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL databases
  • Leadership Experience: Prior experience in leading engineering teams or projects
