We are seeking a DevOps Engineer on the XiNG large scale distributed calculation platform (XiP). In this role you will design, build, and maintain deployment systems and cloud infrastructure for our large-scale distributed systems. You will work closely with software engineers, DevOps, and vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable delivery of our platform.
Job Responsibility:
Simplify CI/CD pipeline based on Enterprise level solutions: Design and implement a new pipeline around Citi’s centralized DevOps pipeline to achieve consistency and simplicity in our processes. Continuously improve pipeline efficiency, reliability, and security, and integrate automated quality gates and rollback mechanisms
Build cloud infrastructure in our AWS environment: Continue to build, evolve and maintain our extremely large-scale parallel compute environment in AWS. Your role will be to implement best practices for storage, compute, and security. Continuously monitor and optimize resource usage, and ensure infrastructure meets the needs of distributed risk calculation workloads
Build cloud infrastructure in our new GCP environments: The GCP environment is a new Greenfield project to build a complete replica of the XiP platform in GCP to fulfill resilience, scalability, and business continuity requirements. Your role will be to actively contribute in the build out of this platform, and to manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure in GCP
Collaborate with internal and external vendors to ensure new technologies are introduced according to business requirements: Work closely with software development and central technology teams to evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies and tools. Ensure that technology adoption aligns with business goals, compliance standards, and operational requirements. Participate in architecture reviews, proof-of-concept initiatives, and provide feedback on scalability, reliability, and maintainability
Operationally support XiP infrastructure: Maintain and monitor the health, performance, and security of the XiP platform. Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patching. Respond to operational incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures. Document operational procedures and provide training and guidance to other team members as needed
Operationally support XiP customers with provided solutions (both in terms of the application and infrastructure): Provide hands-on support to XiP clients, addressing issues related to both application functionality and underlying infrastructure. Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks or outages. Deliver timely troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution, while maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps working closely with an Apps Development team
Extensive experience building cloud infrastructure in a common public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)
Background of delivering successful large scale infrastructure projects
Ability to manage and deliver projects while handling competing priorities
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred
