As a DevOps Engineer at Cryptic Vector, you'll design and implement robust infrastructure solutions that address the government's most complex and secure technical requirements in mission-critical settings. Job Responsibility:
Create CI/CD pipelines and promote DevOps best practices on development teams
Manage software deployments on Kubernetes clusters
Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning applications, containers, networking, and cloud services
perform root-cause analysis and implement lasting fixes
Collaborate on capacity planning and scaling strategies to accommodate growing mission workloads without compromising performance or security
Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure and services—primarily on AWS—using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and configuration management with Ansible (or similar tools like Chef/Puppet)
Write stable, extensible, maintainable, and well-documented code in Python, Bash, JavaScript (and other scripting languages as needed) to automate workflows, tooling, and custom integrations
Provide technical inputs and leadership into software and infrastructure architecture decisions, including design reviews, trade studies, and recommendations for scalable, secure solutions
Deliver constructive, thorough code reviews to peers to maintain high code quality, security standards, and adherence to best practices
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles, with a focus on CI/CD implementation and cloud/container orchestration
Demonstrated proficiency with Kubernetes and container technologies (Docker)
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform
Proficiency in configuration management and automation using Ansible
Solid scripting and programming skills in Python and Bash (JavaScript a plus) for tooling, automation, and pipeline logic
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitLab CI/CD
Working knowledge of AWS cloud services in secure or regulated environments
Familiarity with Linux systems administration across distributions like Ubuntu and Debian
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, proxies, DNS) and their application in cloud and on-prem setups
Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting complex systems
