Sopra Steria Luxembourg is seeking a Mid-level DevOps Engineer – GitLab to join its innovative teams. You will contribute to the development, operation, and continuous optimization of our GitLab service offering, supporting both internal platforms and client environments. The GitLab team is responsible for managing updates, improvements, automation, and operational support of the GitLab platform.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to the development, operation, and continuous optimization of our GitLab service offering
Integrate, test, maintain, and enhance code and tools related to the GitLab service offering
Collaborate with team members to develop efficient, reusable, and maintainable solutions
Identify and implement improvements to optimize existing services
Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability during development and deployment
Use GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting skills to automate code deployment and analysis
Design and implement automation to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes
Work closely with architects, system administrators, and developers to ensure seamless integration
Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews
Engage in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to team expertise
Resolve operational and support tickets while adhering to defined SLAs and KPIs
Document code, scripts, and configurations to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation within the squad
Requirements:
Solid experience with GitLab (user level), Terraform, AWS (EC2, Load Balancers, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, networking, S3, API Gateway), CI/CD, and DevOps principles
Minimum 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
Experience working in an agile and collaborative development environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous learning and improvement
Client-oriented mindset with the ability to support non-technical users
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Willingness to work in shift rotations: Early: 07:00 – 16:00, Late: 11:00 – 20:00
Participation in a mandatory on-call rotation covering 7 consecutive days, including weekends

Experience with GitLab administration, Dynatrace, Prometheus, REST API design, or Python
