We are seeking a Deputy Manager – Technical to play a critical role in Vodafone’s Atlassian Cloud transformation for Data & Analytics (D&A), with a strong focus on JIRA Cloud, CI/CD modernisation, and GitHub Actions–based delivery pipelines. This role is central to enabling the transition to Atlassian Cloud by driving a strategic, greenfield redesign of JIRA workflows, CI/CD frameworks, Sarbanes–Oxley (SOX) controls, and evidence automation aligned to Atlassian Cloud capabilities and Vodafone’s enterprise standards. The focus is on establishing a modern, standardised, compliant, and sustainable target state that supports long-term scalability, auditability, and operational excellence. Operating under IT end-to-end ownership, the role contributes to implementing a defined target architecture aligned with Vodafone Germany IT standards, audit requirements, and executive leadership-approved boundary conditions.
Job Responsibility
Lead and execute JIRA Cloud redesign activities using a greenfield approach, with workflows acting as the core enforcement mechanism for SOX change controls
Configure and optimise JIRA issue types, workflows, permissions, and integrations in an audit-proof manner
Drive CI/CD platform transformation, including migration from Jenkins-based pipelines to GitHub Actions
Redesign pipelines using GitHub as the single source of truth and standardise reusable workflows and secrets management
Lead Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)-integrated CI/CD migration activities ensuring end-to-end traceability across planning, code, build, test, and release stages
Contribute to the redesign of SOX evidence automation using Confluence-centric models and pipeline-generated deployment evidence
Collaborate with IT, D&A, DevOps, Testing, and Architecture teams to embed redesigned workflows into future development and operating standards
Support ITIL-aligned incident resolution and service request fulfilment for tooling and CI/CD platforms
Coordinate with security and network teams on access approvals, firewall rules, and connectivity requirements
Produce design documentation, runbooks, control documentation, and audit-ready artefacts
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with JIRA Cloud and governance-critical workflow design
Proven expertise in CI/CD transformation including Jenkins pipeline engineering and migration to GitHub Actions
Hands-on experience with GitHub repository management and enterprise CI/CD enablement
Strong understanding of enterprise tooling standardisation and DevOps practices
Experience working in ITIL-governed environments (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
Exposure to Unix/Linux environments, basic networking concepts, and firewall coordination
Exposure to Ab Initio Co-operating System will be added advantage
Hands-on experience in infrastructure and platform support
