Job Description:

Amentum is currently seeking an DevOps/Application Engineer as part of a team that delivers the infrastructure for critical applications and development tools running within a secure environment. We are looking for platform engineers to work with the support teams and developers to support our customer. The Apps Support/DevOps Platform Engineer will focus on administrating, maintaining the infrastructure that is used to deliver the services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Management of the Azure DevOps infrastructure
  • Plan, coordinate and execute changes and upgrades within the DevOps environment
  • Implement automation and optimisation strategies to enhance platform performance
  • Create/maintain documentation of the DevOps environment
  • Provide first and second-line support for the DevOps platform
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, application & performance issues
  • Escalate complex issues to third-line support or development teams
  • Work closely with other departments and users to resolve complex technical issues
  • Continual service improvement to DevOps performance and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Management of Azure DevOps environment and infrastructure
  • Administration of virtual and physical servers (Windows and Linux) and VMware vSphere environment
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts and best practice
  • Familiarity with Active Directory
  • Exposure to Windows and Linux monitoring tools
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Docker/Podman)
  • Experience in creation and/or administration of DevOps infrastructure
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across application, infrastructure, and networking teams
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and possibly Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
