An established and high-performing insurer is seeking an experienced Development Underwriter to drive profitable growth across key strategic sectors. This role involves underwriting and trading a broad range of commercial lines, including Professional Indemnity, Management Liability, Cyber, Property, and Casualty, with a primary focus on Professional Indemnity. You will join a successful underwriting team and play a key role in delivering growth ambitions by developing strong internal and external relationships, building a sustainable pipeline, and shaping underwriting appetite within your specialist area. This position offers the opportunity to influence underwriting strategy, proposition development, and pricing across strategic sectors. It therefore requires strong technical capability, excellent relationship management skills, and a consistent focus on exceptional service delivery.

Job Responsibility

  • Underwriting larger, more complex commercial risks in a consistent and profitable manner
  • Leading the development and execution of local underwriting strategy alongside regional leadership
  • Influencing UK-level product and underwriting appetite and strategy
