Job Description

As a rapidly growing brand, Heartland Dental is actively seeking a Development Purchasing Manager to execute process initiatives & technology improvements within the Development department that target cost & quality controls, metric visibility, process efficiency, and optimization across the department. The individual must be able to collaborate effectively with various levels of management both in and outside of Heartland to develop the trust and respect necessary to implement change. The Development Purchasing team acts as primary contacts for owner-provided material vendors and are responsible for facilitating the purchase-payment lifecycle of our projects. They coordinate and manage our strategic vendor partners through the procurement process to help our De novo team produce high-quality dental clinics across the country. In this role, you will report to the Director of Purchasing, while working closely with Development counterparts in Real Estate, Design, Construction & Facilities as well as cross functional Heartland teams in Strategic Sourcing & Integrations.

Job Responsibility

  • Build tools & process for execution of current master service agreements through the following: Measurement & Analysis of the performance indicators
  • Collaborate with various Development teams to implement solutions to cost variation
  • Create & maintain dashboards, spend analyses, and performance reports
  • Execute purchasing functions (ordering, inventory management, invoice approvals, etc…) for new & strategic owner provided categories
  • Assist Development teams with integration of process & technology improvements
  • Train vendors and internal team members
  • Technical expert & interdepartmental liaison
  • Support expansion of RFP process across Development
  • Category research and development
  • Bid proposal analysis & negotiation support
  • Lead projects/initiatives with teams of Development & interdepartmental peers
  • Communicate with internal/external peers & leadership: Written, Verbal, In person, & Virtual
  • Assist Design & Construction teams with identifying resolutions for deviations and custom specifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years’ experience in purchasing or supply chain management
  • Advanced Excel/data analytics skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with cross functional teams on process & systems improvement
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite and email
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to present and articulate said concepts and notations, with confidence, to a variety of audiences
  • Travel < 10% of the time
