Job Description:

HSBC is seeking a high-calibre professional to join as a Software Development Manager. Responsibilities include leading technology platform design and development, driving digital transformation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing complex programs, and ensuring compliance with HSBC’s standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the design and development of complex technology platforms
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives and modernize legacy systems
  • Implement technology roadmaps and architectural strategies aligned with HSBC's business objectives
  • Act as a subject matter expert and interface with senior stakeholders
  • Participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with HSBC's risk management frameworks, security standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Adopt and drive modern development practices including DevOps, cloud technologies, and automation
  • Manage complex, multi-year transformation programs with clear milestone delivery
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, product owners, and architecture teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in technology delivery and system development
  • Extensive experience in financial services or a highly regulated industry environment
  • Expert proficiency in Java, Python, and modern programming languages
  • Deep experience with cloud platforms and microservices architecture
  • Strong background and proficiency in enterprise databases, API development, and system integration
  • Advanced knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Understand Chinese business environment and familiar with cross-location, multiculture collaboration in an international organisation
