The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Development Associate. This position provides advanced administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Development and the Senior Director of Development, assisting them in building an engaged and supportive community of alumni, parents, and friends at Brown University.
Job Responsibility:
Provides advanced administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Development and the Senior Director of Development
Assisting in building an engaged and supportive community of alumni, parents, and friends at Brown University
Handling most administrative duties
Coordinating donor meetings
Preparing donor briefing materials
Managing follow-up actions
Ensuring seamless communication with colleagues, alumni, donors, and campus partners
Assisting with facilitating team meetings and retreats
Processing expenses
Budgeting
Travel coordination
Document preparation
Managing complex calendars
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 2 years of professional administrative experience or experience in a related field such as alumni relations, fundraising, higher education, nonprofits, sales, customer service, development
Ability to learn and advocate for Inclusive fundraising principles
Proficient with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.)
Expertise in Microsoft and Google platforms, especially Google Calendar and email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience coordinating complex travel arrangements and calendars
Demonstrated ability to work with data and experience managing budgets
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and project and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment with emphasis on accuracy and deadline adherence
Highly collaborative and strong interpersonal skills in building relationships with external and internal constituents
Ability to apply tact and maintain confidentiality
Customer-focused, customer service orientation
The incumbent must possess tact, discretion, sound judgment, and initiative
