We are seeking an experienced Developer to join our Market Post Trade Technology team. Market Post Trade objective is to standardize Barclays Global Market Operations processes, execute the regulatory agenda, strengthen the control environment and support the executions of the infrastructure services strategy, including collaboration and hosting initiatives. In this role, you will work in Japan, one of the most complex service center with many specialized teams onshore to support the full trade lifecycle. And you will also work with Front, Middle and Back office users as well as local & global technology teams, development and delivery of high-quality software solutions for all deliveries covering business growth initiatives, regulatory mandates, control enhancement and operations support work. In this role, you can work with experienced PM/BA to learn a wider range of different financial products and front-to-back flow. We are working together to design and contribute bright future for Market Post Trade.

Job Responsibility:

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a qualified developer to deliver high-quality software solutions for projects are run and managed in both waterfall and agile based environments
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot , Spring, Oracle/MS SQL databases, Micro services, docker , REST API , kubernetes , Shell/perl scripts and Linux/Windows hosting environments and a high level of coding productivity
  • Prior experience on collaborate with other teams of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy
  • Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities and under little supervision
  • Soft skillset on influence, documentation, communication and leadership

Nice to have:

  • Experience with VBA and MS Access
  • Bilingual capability in English and Japanese to communicate with business stake holders, other IT teams and external vendors
  • Understanding of the local market, processes and regulations within Japan including domestic settlement and reporting infrastructure and requirements
