Job Description

As a Despatch Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring finished products are prepared, checked, and loaded accurately for distribution to our customers. Working as part of the Despatch team, you will help ensure orders are dispatched on time while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a fast-paced and physically active role, where teamwork and attention to detail are essential to ensure products reach customers safely and on time.

Job Responsibility

  • Picking and preparing finished products ready for despatch in line with customer orders
  • Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Checking product quantities, batch codes, and documentation to ensure accuracy
  • Ensuring pallets are correctly labelled, wrapped, and stored in the appropriate locations
  • Working closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure smooth product flow
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety at all times
  • Completing despatch documentation and system updates accurately
  • Carrying out stock rotation and ensuring FIFO processes are followed
  • Keeping the despatch and warehouse areas clean, organised, and safe
  • Supporting the wider logistics team to ensure delivery schedules are met

Requirements

  • Experience using manual handling equipment or pallet trucks
  • Previous experience working in warehouse, logistics, or despatch
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling orders and documentation
  • Good understanding of health & safety and food safety standards
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Reliable, organised, and committed to maintaining high standards
