Job Description

About the role Joining our Logistics team as an Operative in Despatch you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers get the correct orders on time and at the same high quality they have come to expect. you will be given the opportunity to train and develop throughout our clear progression pathways. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Warehouse experience but wants to develop it further, or someone who just fancies a change in direction! For this role, it is essential that a candidate has a Counterbalance Forklift Licence. This is a FTC opportunity for 6 months. The day to day role will involve: Loading and unloading products using counterbalance Scanning, wrapping and palletising products. Performing final quality checks on products. Using electric pallet trucks, counterbalance and reach vehicles. Recording and rotating chilled food products. Ensuring paperwork and delivery orders are completed and recorded.

  • Understanding of the full malting process (barley intake, drying & storage through to malt despatch) to allow the role holder to operate the site during a single person 12hr shift
  • The ability to attain MAGB Fundamentals in Malting qualification within 3 years of starting employment
  • Conduct barley quality analysis on incoming loads and malt quality checks pre-despatch

Monitoring of process control and reaction to and progress of any adverse conditions associated with the malt process. Alerting management of any deviations in process control. Preparation of samples. Any other reasonable duties as requested by management. Weighbridge operation. Barley dressing. Checks before dispatch (Lab checks). Reporting of breakdowns/faults and initial inspections. Complete detailed end of shift handover & communicate to oncoming Shift Operator
  • Completion & confirmation of completion (or justification of non-completion) of jobs as detailed on cleaning sheets. Working on own initiative, prioritise accordingly any other hygiene requirements which is not specifically scheduled on the issued cleaning sheet
  • All the following documents to be completed: Barley dressing sheet, screenings analysis, barley drying sheet. All sections of the batch record sheets. Cleaning sheet. Magnet record sheets. Checks before dispatch. Shift Change Sheets, Shift Check Sheets, Fault Log / Maximo (as required), Lab analysis sheets
