Job Description:

Robert Half is partnering with a client to find a hands‑on Desktop / Network Support Technician to support day‑to‑day IT operations. This is a boots‑on‑the‑ground role ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with hardware, networking equipment, and end users in a fast‑paced environment. This role supports a Cisco‑based network environment and works closely with the Network Administrator on infrastructure and endpoint support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide hands‑on, on‑site IT support across desktop and network environments
  • Assist the Network Administrator with daily network operations and projects
  • Build, configure, and deploy PCs and desktops
  • Replace and refresh wireless access points (no cabling required)
  • Support Cisco switches and Palo Alto firewalls in a Cisco network environment
  • Perform wireless refreshes and access point replacements
  • Provide Tier II hardware break‑fix support for PCs, laptops, printers, servers, switches, UPS equipment, and related devices
  • Support end users as needed
  • role requires regular interaction with non‑technical staff
  • Perform hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
  • Assist with backups, patch installs, incident resolution, and account maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities across IT systems

Requirements:

  • Hands‑on PC / desktop management experience
  • Experience building PCs and supporting endpoint hardware
  • Experience performing wireless refreshes and replacing access points
  • Strong comfort supporting network‑focused tasks on‑site
  • Experience with Tier II hardware break‑fix support
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems
  • Comfortable interacting with end users

  • Extroverted, team‑oriented, and reliable in an on‑site environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting IT in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience using ticketing and systems management tools (e.g., SCCM, Active Directory)
