Job Description:

As a Desktop and Systems Administrator, your primary role will be to ensure the smooth operation, security, and lifecycle management of our organization's computer systems and workstations. This critical role requires a strong background in Microsoft Intune, including configuring policies, building and managing computer images, and deploying devices. You will also need proficiency with imaging tools, patch management, and hardware lifecycle management.

Job Responsibility:

  • Imaging and Deployment: Leverage imaging tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune) to build, maintain, and deploy computer images
  • Create and customize images, including adding driver packs and ensuring compatibility across device models
  • Manage the entire imaging lifecycle — from creation to deployment and updates
  • Collaborate with team members to define best practices and ensure effective deployment workflows
  • System Configuration and Patching: Manage Windows patching processes, ensuring timely updates across all devices, while minimizing disruption
  • Utilize updating tools such as WSUS, SCCM, or Intune to manage patches and updates effectively
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and apply patches or updates as part of regular maintenance
  • Endpoint and Asset Management: Administer endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune Endpoint Manager, including configuring compliance policies, enforcing security configurations, and managing updates
  • Use asset management tools to track and manage IT assets, ensuring up-to-date inventory records
  • Oversee lifecycle management for all hardware and software, ensuring seamless procurement, deployment, decommissioning, and disposal
  • Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting support, addressing complex technical issues related to hardware, software, security, and system configurations
  • Resolve escalated IT support tickets in a timely and professional manner
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to investigate and implement solutions to prevent recurring incidents
  • System Security and Optimization: Identify workstation vulnerabilities through security scans and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain virtual desktop infrastructure and optimize performance for end-users
  • Enforce strong security policies for endpoints and mitigate risks proactively
  • Inventory and Equipment Management: Perform inventory management using tools to track the location, condition, and usage of all IT assets
  • Maintain accurate records of device configurations, software licenses, and patching schedules

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a technical IT role, such as Desktop Support Administrator or Systems Administrator
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, including configuring, deploying, and managing system images and compliance/security policies
  • Proven ability to build and deploy Intune-based images tailored to organizational needs
  • Expertise with imaging tools, including the ability to build, test, and deploy images as well as integrate driver packs
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows patching, utilizing tools like Intune, WSUS, or SCCM to manage updates and apply fixes in a controlled environment
  • Familiarity with update management tools (e.g., Patch My PC, Ivanti, or other tools) for centralized update and security management
  • Strong knowledge of asset management tools for tracking and managing IT hardware/software assets
  • Solid expertise in lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT assets
  • Proven track record of providing Tier 3 support, troubleshooting complex issues across workstations, software, network configurations, and VDI environments
  • Knowledge of inventory management tools such as ServiceNow, Spiceworks, or other similar tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft DNS, storage technologies, Active Directory, and networking tools
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security best practices and experience mitigating vulnerabilities in endpoint systems
