We are looking for a detail-focused Designer / Drafter to support engineering design efforts in Bloomfield, Connecticut. This onsite opportunity is a Long-term Contract position centered on producing and updating technical drawings, models, and assemblies with AutoCAD for service-related design projects. The role calls for strong drafting accuracy, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to communicate progress clearly while working closely with a broader technical team.
Job Responsibility
Create, revise, and maintain accurate technical drawings, part models, and assembly documentation using AutoCAD
Contribute to design work for individual components, larger assemblies, and packaging-related solutions that support engineering objectives
Monitor active assignments and provide timely updates on milestones, progress, and issues to leadership and key stakeholders
Review completed work for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established company procedures and quality expectations
Interpret technical requirements and translate them into clear, usable drawings for manufacturing, service, or engineering use
Collaborate with team members to resolve design challenges and improve documentation quality across projects
Requirements
Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and the ability to produce precise technical drawings and related documentation
Strong problem-solving skills with a creative and analytical approach to design-related tasks
Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with management and cross-functional teams
Careful attention to detail and the ability to contribute productively in a collaborative onsite environment
Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, including practical application in drafting and design work
Basic familiarity with machinery, machine tools, or similar equipment and how they relate to component design
High school diploma with technical training or equivalent hands-on experience
an associate degree in Engineering or similar education is preferred
