This full-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated professional ready to take ownership of their own workshops and classrooms, contributing fully to departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
Job Responsibility:
Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, engaging lessons across various DT disciplines (such as Product Design, Timber, and Polymers)
Responsible for a full timetable of classes, ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16
Maintain a safe, inspiring practical environment
Use formative and summative assessment strategies to effectively guide student learning
Ensuring the safe use of tools and machinery by all students
Contributing to the development of schemes of work and creative projects
Assessing student progress and providing timely feedback to drive attainment
Undertaking a form tutor role and supporting the pastoral needs of students
Actively participating in whole-school life and departmental training
Requirements:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Design & Technology (or a closely related field)
Exhibits excellent classroom management and a high regard for Health & Safety standards within a workshop setting
Is passionate about innovation, CAD/CAM, and practical problem-solving
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and GCSE exam board requirements
Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
