Job Description

Are you a creative and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher who can inspire students to innovate and design? GSL Education are looking for a knowledgeable Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join a supportive school in Sheffield (S11). This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated teacher to engage students, develop their practical skills, and make learning Design Technology both exciting and accessible. As a Design Technology Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons, support students of all abilities, and work closely with colleagues to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential. The successful candidate will be confident, approachable, and passionate about fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons to secondary school students
  • Support students’ learning both individually and in groups
  • Encourage practical skills, creativity, and innovative thinking
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Promote positive behaviour and student engagement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and teaching strategies
  • Contribute to school activities, workshops, or enrichment sessions

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
  • Ability to inspire and engage students across different abilities
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
