Job Description

Reporting to the UK Design Manager, you will be part of the design team in delivering commercially and technically accurate designs in a timely manner between 11kV - 33kV.

Job Responsibility

  • Work directly for the Head of Design as part of the Design Team
  • Produce technically competent, compliant, and cost-effective electric designs from 400V up to 132kV
  • Manage / co-ordinate technically competent, compliant, and cost-effective gas, water, and telecoms designs
  • Manage a portfolio of multi-utility designs during their design phase
  • Produce bills of materials and liaise with manufacturers to order main plant items as required
  • Provide ongoing support to other departments and our clients throughout the project lifecycle (tender, design, construction)
  • Provide guidance / hands-on support to other members of the design team as required
  • Provide technical support to the construction and design team to produce and review Inspection & plans and associated documentation and ensure the technical adequacy
  • Provide feedback to design originator/s on safety, reliability, and durability in accordance with overarching industry standards

Requirements

  • Experienced in design work on all electrical voltages from 400V up to 132kV
  • Primary substation design and / or secondary substation design / protection
  • Ability to provide technical advice and resolve a wide range of technical power engineering issues
  • Proven relevant experience and a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status)
  • Technically qualified with an HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a relevant qualification in the electricity sector
  • Qualification in technical drawing
