Job Description:

Lead and elevate visual storytelling across brands, platforms, and formats at The Nation Network. This is a key leadership role for a creative professional who combines strong design craft with people leadership, strategic thinking, and a hands-on mindset. Responsible for shaping the visual direction of our content, supporting brand consistency, and helping a growing design team deliver high-impact creative work at scale.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage a team of graphic and motion designers, supporting their growth and development
  • Define and evolve visual guidelines to ensure brand consistency across multiple platforms and brands
  • Oversee the creation of graphic and motion assets for editorial, social media, marketing, and product initiatives
  • Balance hands-on design work with team leadership and project oversight
  • Partner closely with Editorial, Social, Marketing, and Growth teams to translate ideas into compelling visual executions
  • Help scale design processes and workflows to support high-volume content production
  • Ensure creative quality while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving media environment

Requirements:

  • Solid experience in graphic design, with a strong motion design component
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring designers (formal people management experience is a plus)
  • A strong portfolio showcasing both graphic and motion work across digital platforms
  • Experience working in digital media, content, marketing, or similarly fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of design for social media, video, and digital storytelling
  • Ability to give clear creative direction and constructive feedback
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Comfort managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time
