Job Responsibility:

  • Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams, coordinate meetings with customers, understand and interpret customer needs and their design directions by communicating closely with them, and share the info with internal designers and other members
  • Coordinate meetings with internal teams, prepare program development schedule, meeting minutes, design images and presentations, and other internal documents
  • Working closely with internal teams, create and prepare visual design images and samples, make interior color and material proposals to customers, and share their feedback with internal teams
  • Provide status updates on projects and track progress with complete understanding of requirements and expectations while maintaining project milestones
  • Perform color tuning and material mastering to ensure consistency of colors and materials prior to production launch
  • Research new trends in automobile industry and interior colors and materials, report it to internal designers to assist them to forecast future design direction of North American vehicle production projects
  • Maintain and organize sample inventories and documents

Requirements:

  • Entry level to 1-3 yrs experience
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent in industrial design, textile design, or color material design preferred
  • Experience or strong interest in automotive development process / textile development is a plus
  • Must be able to travel (US, Mexico, Japan), 10-30%
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to clients' needs
  • Good in-person communication and collaborative skills
  • Some Japanese speaking ability is a plus but not required
  • Computer skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Submission of a portfolio or work samples
