The Opportunity: This is an opportunity to join one of New Zealand's leading Design & Build contractors, recognised for delivering high quality commercial, industrial and specialist facilities nationwide. Working within a collaborative pre construction team, you'll partner directly with clients to understand their objectives before leading the design process from initial feasibility through to construction ready documentation. You'll coordinate architects, engineers and specialist consultants while balancing design excellence with commercial outcomes, programme requirements and buildability. Competitive remuneration package reflective of your experience. What you'll be doing: Lead Design & Feasibility studies from client briefing through to project approval. Coordinate architects, engineers and specialist consultants throughout the design process. Manage budgets, programmes and project risk during pre-construction. Review design documentation to ensure quality, buildability and commercial viability. Facilitate Safety in Design workshops and manage statutory approvals. Develop strong client relationships that support repeat business and long-term partnerships. What we're looking for Non-Negotiables: Proven Design Management experience within New Zealand commercial construction. Strong understanding of commercial building design and project delivery. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams. Excellent commercial awareness, including budgeting and programme management. Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. Sound knowledge of the NZ Building Code and relevant construction standards. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
